SIX MUST-SEE PLACES IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES
Blog content by Lauren Feldkamp
1. BEARTOOTH HIGHWAY, MONTANA
2. Denver, Colorado
To truly get a grasp on what Denver is all about, spend an afternoon or evening at the 16th Street Mall, which is an open-air pedestrian mall offering everything from wonderful restaurants to unique boutiques.
3. Estes Park, Colorado
An absolutely gorgeous mountain town, you will want to make time to explore the small lake via kayak, or for a spectacular view of the area, take a ride on the aerial tramway early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
âAfter a day of exploring, be sure to pay a visit to the iconic Wapiti Pub, where you can choose from an impressive array of craft beer as well as simple yet delicious food selections.
4. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
5. Glacier National Park, Montana
An absolutely gorgeous destination, this is an ideal spot for those looking to be close with nature.
There is a vast amount of hiking options available as well as plentiful campgrounds, though the presence of bears in the area means that anything with a soft side, such as a canvas tent is prohibited.
The most famous activity here is driving the Going-to-the-Sun Road, an approximate fifty-mile drive that takes you over Loganâs Pass while affording magnificent scenery the entire time.
Although there are areas to stop and use the restroom or grab a bite to eat, there is no fuel available along the road, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Other highlights of the park include the Lake McDonald Valley and North Fork, which is relatively free of other visitors thus will provide you with the most isolated experience.
